I have been so extremely busy for the last few months that I have abused my blog (and my personal life) that’s not even a joke! My work duties have taken over my leisure time just so I could earn a bit more monies. Let’s face it, who doesn’t need them nowadays!
Well, anyways…I’m so busy sometimes and wrapped up in the world of work that I completely forget about me, moi and myself! Yes, I end up stressed, frustrated and wingy! I hate being like that (not that my fiance would enjoy that) so I’ve recently decided to pause time to time and enjoy myself, forget about work, try to relax.
This post is primarily for those who prioritise all the things they HAVE TO DO rather than concentrate (from time to time) on the things they WANT TO DO.
Ehhh, why do we need a “Me-time” I hear you asking?
Well, I don’t have to tell you, we live instressful times! Handling our careers and households at the same time! We are mothers, daughters, wives, professionals and soo much more! I bet we all get to our bed totally exhausted. I bet we sometimes feel tired even if we haven’t done much during the day. The explanation is simple. We get up in the morning and we rush, rush, rush the whole day long! We often find ourselves under pressure for at least 10 hours a day. Let’s be honest with ourselves, at what point during the day do you relax? Or even better! How many days a week do you take time out of your busy schedule to look after yourself?
If we manage to spend more time relaxing we become happier, we smile more and we are nicer to people. That’s just how it is. Nevertheless, it’s not only about how we come across. There has been a lot of researche carried out that link our stressful lives to many life threatening illnesses. Cancer, IBS, heart attacks, strokes, anxiety, depression, infertility etc. etc. I don’t want to scare you, I only want you to think about the life that you lead and if you recognise yourself in any of this, I want you to start thinking more about YOURSELF!
Do you need another reason on why is it important to relax? OK, let’s think about your career. Do you want to achieve great things, would you like to come up with amazing ideas that kind of put you ahead of competition? Oh hell yes! So tell me, how do you want to get those things if you’re stressed or too tired to think straight? You only get more frustrated, girl…
This is why I’m starting this new series on my blog, it’s called project “Me Time” and I hope to cooperate with more of you out there!
