What made MAC famous? Certainly their lipstics! And which one is one of their most famous? It would have to be Ruby Woo red lipstick! If that hasn’t sold you, than what would you think if I told you this is Gwen Stefani’s favourite (apart from Russian Red)?! Shall I even bother writing this review?
I’ve had this red lipstick crush for some time now as there is nothing quite
as captivating and bewitching as a classic red lips. I personally
adore this shade and its ability to transform the mood of any look into
something sophisticated, classy, elegant and I dare to say even something raunchy. Plain outfit
is “transformed” in a nanosecond as red lips bring extraordinary out of ordinary.
Red lipsticks are a MUST and I believe every woman should own one! No questions asked! Ruby Woo happened to be my go to make up item on any special occasion and I dare to say it’s become my weekend signature. They are the perfect transition of any day time look into a night time look afterall.
Texture & Colour:
Ruby Woo lipstick by MAC is definitely one of the driest ones out there! But it’s also the best matte lipstick I’ve ever tried on. The longetivity of this red baby is amazing, I would say 3 hours and you still have the perfect lips but obviously no eating in the meantime. The lisptick doesnt have any smell to it neither doesnt taste. Good plus!
Ruby Woo is a cool-toned red, specifically a blue based redlipstick. So you dont have to worry about your teeth looking yellow.
The formula of the lipstick doesn’t make it the easiest lipstick to apply nevertheless the end finish is wort the try. This red liptick is does stay in lines but to achieve the perfect look, I also tend to use my red lip liner by…it’s a perfect match.
Conclusion: I do love Ruby Woo by MAC. In fact it’s my second one already. I actually bought it before I read any reviews and I have to say I was surpsrised that it received any negative reviews at all. The point made was that due to its dryness, you can see al the lips imprefections. This is not true, I suffer with dry lips and I can swear it fills all the gaps and all you’re left is perfect red lips. So don’t worry about this!
As you can see I’m a big fan of a good old red lipsticks! One of my weekend alternatives is Rimmel Apocalyps Lip Lacquer. It’s complete opposite of Mac Ruby Woo, it’s shiny with shimmer to it and very bright. Whatever you fancy ladies, there is an option for you out there, so don’t be shy and get yourselves the best statement lips – red lips – and why don’t you start with the queen among red lipsticks – Ruby Woo!
What about you, ladies? Have you ever tried Ruby Woo? Would you? What is your ultimate go to red lipstick that is out there? Any recommendations?
