This weekend I finally got to wear my poncho again (after a long and too cold winter) which is bang on trend right now. The weather was just alright enough for me to rock this carefree look yet again before the spring finally makes its way towards us. Ohh, how much I can’t wait to feel the sunshine on my face again! But until then, whenever the temperatures are above freezing and below way too hot, I can enjoy my days wearing this little beauty.
I still remember buying it. Last year, my fiance and his family invited me to go to London for a family weekend full of shenanigans. And it really was fun. The main purpose of this trip was to see Rodriguez, an incredible 70 year old US singer from Michigan. The concert was incredible and the performance was out of this world (if you haven’t heard of searching for Sugar Man, it’s a must to Google).
We also got to do a lot of walking around London, not so much sightseeing, more of wondering around, discovering hidden London treasures. One place I’d never been to before before was the Old Spitalfield market. So many beautiful shops with stuff out of this world. One of the stalls was selling these beautiful ponchos, made with love by two sisters/designers. All handmade and unique. I still have their business card somewhere and as soon as I find it, I’ll link this post to their site, as they were amazing!
There are many reasons why I’m so in love with this fashionably on trend grey poncho. The first one that struck me right from the start is its huge statement collar! There are several ways I can style it and what’s more, I can even use the collar as a hood. Perfect if the weather catches me by surprise with the rain or wind. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also a few different styles I can wear, but I love it the most when styling it with this black belt. Not hard to adore this fashion piece, is it.
The grey of this poncho makes it incredibly effortless to match with other colours but personally I love pairing it with my black H&M skinny jeans, grey Zara jumper and out of this world Office boots! The black suede hat with my Ray Bans sunglasses also make the perfect fashion shoot duo. To add a bit of wauw effect to this outfit post, this MAC red lipstick (read full review here) is my go to make up item when the weather is still a tad dark and cold – the perfect mood match, don’t you think? Or maybe it’s because I would feel too ordinary in this black and grey outfit? I just always have to add a bit of colour to whatever I wear.
What do you think about the latest trend – ponchos in fashion? Is it Yay or Nay?
