Smoothie Recipe: Sweet Potato Smoothie Madness

Hi guys! I’m really excited about this post. I enjoy having sweet potatoes with my meals and I’m always on a look out for new recipes that incorporate this delicious and healhty ingredient! This is when I came across sweet potato smoothie recipes and since I’ve become a smoothie maniac (check out all my recipes so far), it was a MUST to try. So, I set out on a mission and searched for heatlhy sweet potato smoothie recipes, combined all the best ideas together and this is what I came up with!

I do love the taste of sweet potatoes but there is more to them than you might think! They’re packed with nutrients, including potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, calcium and magnesium. Sweet potatoes are also high in beta-carotene which is supposed to boosts immune defences and there are studies claiming it protects cells from cancer-causing chemicals. Not sure about you but I’M SOLD!

So, are you ready? Hope you’re going to enjoy it as much as I do!

Ingredients for two bakers:

  • 5 medium sized sweet potatoes, baked, peeled and cutted on small pieces
  • ½
large banana or 1 small banana
  • 10 madjool date, pitted
  • 1 ½ cup almond milk
  • 2 spoons of honey
  • 10 ice cubes

  1. Wash the potatoes, cut them in half and baked them until ready (it took me 20 minutes on 180).
  2. Once baked, let it cool and peel. It was actually really easy to peel!
  3. Per one baker: mix half all of the ingredients
  4. Blend in the blender until smooth

TIP: Cut the banana into small pieces and freeze them before adding into a smoothie. You will end up with an
icy cold smoothie or it can completely replace the ice cubes!

I’ve made one baker with less milk to make the smoothie thicker and the other one with more milk to make it smoother and drinkable! The thicker one was perfect to freeze and now I have an ice cream. The perfect, tasty and healthy dessert!!

So what about you guys, are you going to try this sweet potato smoothie recipe? You have to let me know what you thought of this one!

Yours truly,

Firstly what stunning photography! I love your artistic style. Secondly, this recipe sounds AMAZING. I'd never have thought to put sweet potato in to a smoothie! Genius idea. I also love that leaving it thicker and popping it in the freezer makes a fab ice cream. I'll definitely have to give this a go.
