Hi ladies! Today I have a very exciting post to share with you. Few weeks back I was invited to a Trend Showcase event at Harvey Nichols in the Leeds store at Victoria Quarter. The evening was filled with fun, champagne, canapés and lots lots of fashion talk about latest fashion trends. The main attraction of the evening was a fashion show supported by Harvey Nichols top buyers – Anita Barr, Olivia Richardson and Tina Lamb – These lovely ladies were talking us through their amazing lives as well as upcoming fashion trends for this summer. On the top of all that, we also got a chance to witness some of these trends firsthand during the catwalk. And I have to admit, it was something spectacular! So shall we start?!
Before the show kicked off, we got a chance to walk around the store to see the latest fashion trends by designer brands such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Erdem (I’m currently obsessed with their dresses for this spring/summer season) or even Manolo Blahnik (what woman doesn’t like their shoes?!). I was snapping away with my camera while sipping on a champagne (on a school night, I know!). I also met my friends Maria from Fashion Infatuation and Kristina from Mode of Style, lovely girls who share my passion for all things fashion. Also through out the night I was tweeting away with lovely Laura from A Forte For Fashion, only to find out she was actually sitting in front of me! What are the chances, right!
|Excuse my tired face, the event was straight after work! But doesn’t girls look lovely?!|
After about an hour of browsing, the show started. We were seated, our champagne glasses were topped up and it went all quite in order for the catwalk to start. We were all one big ear, eagerly listening to Harvey Nichols top buyers to find out what is going to be trendy this summer fashion season.
This summer season is going to be all about 70s, multi-coloured stripes, clashes of colours and bohemian dresses. I’ve already discovered the power of colour clashes at my outfit post about colour blocking with bright colours and I’m fascinated by this trend already!
There is a really good news for us girls, that are literally obsessed with jumpsuit. They are not going anywhere! In fact, they are as strong as ever. This black and white number is by Lanvin and the whole outfit is complimented by Manolo Blahnik sandals. But pay attention to the Givenchy clutch, really adore the detailing making it easy to hold.
These pieces are made for stylish and confident women who dare to wear statement pieces. And this dress is certainly nothing less but real statement piece. The geometric pattern is a real eye catcher and the whole dress and colours are clearly inspired by the 70s.
One of my favorite outfits of the night is certainly this one below. Black and white combo is a winner I can bet on anytime. I’m certainly going to recreate this look very soon.
This red number by Roland Mouret was truly star of the night. Every one was mesmerised by the design and the cuts.To our surprise, this outfit consists of red dress and a red top, not a dress as we all thought. I couldn’t take my eyes of it and wished I could own a statement piece like this stunning red piece.
You can never go wrong with a little black number and this black dress by Dolce & Gabbana is no different. Very simple and yet so powerful. (I have to admit, I was captivated by Dolce & Gabanna’s collection as it was to die for! So if you walk past Harvey and Nichols, pop by!
Throughout the night, Victoria Beckham pieces were popping out. Her store currently cannot be found at Harvey Nichols at Victoria Quarter but there are plans for next year! So exciting!
Suede is going to be the next big thing. Suede shoes, bags, jackets, you name it! I’m quite excited about this as I’m quite fond of suede. Boot cut and flare trousers are going to steal all the attention this summer fashion season but what about the next season? Apparently autumn/winter, is going to be all about coats (great news for me as I’m not the biggest fan of knits). I can’t already wait to see those lovely pieces on shelves!
Overall the event was amazing, very well organised and I couldn’t believe where the time went. Thank you for inviting me and sharing all those great fashion trends with us.Would do it all again!
