Holiday Outfit: Lady in Red

Holiday Outfit: Red Dress

Hello again! I wasn’t sure whether or not to post about this red dress holiday outfit as I have had this dress for a while….three years to be precise. So, not exactly bang on fashion, right. Nevertheless I decided why not? This short red dress is a timeless fashion piece after all. Red certainly demands attention. Red empowers us, gives us confidence and certainly screams: “Look at me!” It’s a colour that makes heads turn.

I can’t remember why I bought this dress. Maybe I felt brave that day or maybe it was just because I fell in love with the simple cut of this dress. Nevertheless, if you read my blog regularly, you would know I’m a big fan of bright colours in fashion. I always try to mix colours into my outfit and make up posts, red lipsticks are a must for me. Check out my two favourite ones: MAC Lady Danger and MAC Ruby Woo,  so as you can see I don’t try to stay away from red.

I’ve worn this beauty a lot over the years but I save it for special occasions only. My honeymoon was certainly special enough to bring this beauty with me to Croatia. The cut is well fitted around the top and waist area and goes slightly out from the waist down. The skirt length is above the knee which makes it the perfect summer dress. I also bought it at the same time as this pink River Island dress that I wore in Spain last year. They are made from the same stretchy material and the quality is priceless. I wish there were more dresses like these.

The pictures where taken on our evening walk from Brela (a town we stayed in) to a village called Stomarica. We stayed there two years ago and discovered an amazing fish restaurant (Plima – if you ever decide to visit) run by very lovely locals. I always felt very welcome there and the food was divine. The walk was about 45 minutes from our hotel, but seriously guys, their grilled seabass was worth the walk. On a plus side we got to walk along the coast, surrounded by sea and mountains, certainly a heavenly place on earth. I hope to come back again…one day.

This dress is stunning! I love the shape of it, you look lovely! I wish I was brave enough to wear red, I just stick to navy ALL the time. Might take a bit of inspiration from you and branch out a bit though 🙂 xo

Thank you Sian, you should definitely try to incorporate red hues into your life, try with something small, like a scarf or necklace and slowly build it into a dress Xx
