Going on a summer holiday is easily the most exciting time of the year for me. It’s something I’ve been looking forward the whole year. Time to relax, wind down, read a good book or two, eat lovely (sea)food in as many (fish) restaurants as I can and swim in a sea as much as I can. Even though I try to spend the majority of my time at the beach, I also love discovering new places and towns while abroad. Last year the highlight of my holiday was definitely a day trip to Alicante while this year we managed to squeeze a bit more in while honeymooning in Croatia.
About the holiday outfit:
As you can see on my blog, I love holiday outfits! For this occasion I decided to wear this classy black playsuit with white lace as a top. I purchased this little number back in winter when I was deciding what to wear to my work’s Christmas party. I didn’t go for it in the end (I bought a jumpsuit from there as well and that was the winner) but I never regretted buying it as it became a regular staple in my wardrobe ever since.
I do adore this fashion piece for its sleek and sophisticated cut. It’s a timeless piece, I wore it in winter, spring and now during summer. I’ve styled it for nights out, romantic meals with my hubby as well as for dates with my girlfriends. Its simplicity gets me every time – the black and white combination gives your imagination plenty of freedom to run wild. Even though my favourite accessories to go with this versatile outfit are in black, I’ve also matched this playsuit with beige heels/accessories and pink heels/accessories. I would say pink was definitely daring and on the edge but sometimes it pays off to try harder and push your comfort boundaries. Saying that, I also own a white Miss Selfridge playsuit, so read my post to see how I’ve transferred this plain look into an edgy statement look!
To find the perfect playusit is not the easiest as they can either be
too tight or too baggy. I find many of them un-flattering around my
bottom area nevertheless, if you manage to find one that fits your
figure, it is about to be your favourite wardrobe staple for all the
seasons ahead. The only scary thing about playsuits is the fact that every time you need to go…go you are practically naked at the loo!!
We had a fantastic evening at Baska Voda, ate really good dinner and had a perfect walk on the beach afterwards. It was also first day it was cloudy and as you can see in some pictures, it was really windy. We also had an very adventurous morning, when a storm creeped upon us in the early morning hours. The lightning also struck right next to our hotel and set a tree on fire. I’ve never been so close to lighting before and I hope it was the last time. It was so strong, my ears were ringing and we were all blinded by a white flash for few seconds. Check out my Instagram pictures of a tree on fire!
|Dangerous work conditions, soo windy I nearly blew away! 😉|
What would your favourite combination be? Would you play it safe with black accessories or would you dare to be bold with something like pink heels?
