Believe it or not, there are good things about autumn or in fact any change in the seasons. You get a unique chance to completely redecorate the place you live to match the mood or surroundings. I quite like autumn. Why? It’s not too cold yet and we still get the rare opportunity to enjoy the occasional warm sun rays.
For me, it’s also the time of hot chocolates, pumpkin spice lattes and cosy weekend evenings. We humans spend ages to perfect our indoors and I guess it’s just the way we are. We adore those little touches, it creates our homes, our shelters where we can create our happy memories with family and friends. I get excited every time a new season starts as I get to swap my bright summer decor to more dark moody autumnal vibes. So today I thought I would share with you my Autumn Decorating Tips. Are you ready to take the journey with me?
Knits are an ideal companion for chilly nights at home with a movie or a good book. I have to admit I love my weekend afternoons when I get to cosy in my armchair with a warm cup of Earl Grey tea and a good book on my Kindle. The greatest thing about blankets or throws is that based on their patterns you can match them to the weather outside or your current mood.
My tip: drape your favourite knits over armchairs or sofas, the texture it adds to the room is inviting and irresistible.

Pile up Pillows
There is something about piling up pillows that add warmth into your living space.Well stylish pillows lend an opulence to any room, especially the living room or bedroom. I like to introduce extra pillows to my living room during autumn and winter months and in this case, the rule ‘more is less’ just doesn’t apply.

Yes, it’s time to trade in those summer pastels shades for more autumnal textures. the fun and frivolity of summer is over and it’s time to give way to darker moodier shades. I’ve recently become obsessed with ‘Gold Accents’. Believe it or not, gold accents do
have a warming effect. Weather you get new picture frames, mirrors or just
decorative objects, you will create a space worth staying in during those
cold rainy days.
Autumn is also typically a season to decorate your living space with accented burnt-orange accessories, pumpkin scented candles and animal themed items. I also added some cacti and succulents because…well, because everyone is obsessed with these plant right now.

What else is out there for us to decorate our houses this autumn season? It wouldn’t be a post about autumn decorating tips if I haven’t suggested wicker baskets. Wicker pieces are a must for me, that is without a doubt. I’ve discovered wire baskets this year and I never looked back. They are a perfect tool to be filled with firewood or pick the smaller versions to place a plant pot inside.
