Outfit Post: Last Days of Summer

Outfit Post: Last Days of Summer

If you prefer your outfit to whisper quietly rather than shout out loud, you will probably like my new outfit post. It lies between an edgy city style while maintaining the feel of sophisticated  leisure.

My hubby and I were desperately in need of some time out from the city, but had a busy afternoon planned, so we couldn’t really venture too far out. Hence we decided to visit Tropical World in Leeds, one of the nicest places to be when you’re wanting to clear your head.

My mood that day reflected the desire to leave the erratic city life behind for a moment or two and re-connect with nature. I’m a person who craves light and that echoes very often in my outfits, I adore vivid colours and I surround myself with bright shades most of the time. I got inspired by the evocative range of subtle colours, mixing up leisure with sophistication. Less is sometimes more and any girl can make a big statement wearing outfits with a restrained colour palette.

Combining a sophisticated blazer and a white office shirt with a pair of outdoorsy jeans and shoes, I created an outfit that is a bit more edgy, with some sass. I sprinkled some chic, mixed it with a pair of cool vintage shades and voila, here I was, soaking up the sun in a park. All items in this outfit are versatile fashion pieces and when put together they came out as a very unrestricted lazy dressing.

I know the weather has been hit  and miss but don’t give up on summer just yet! Try to incorporate vivid colours into your wardrobe and brighten up your days. Mornings are still light after all! Why don’t you review another post of mine, where I’m using this bright yellow straight cut blazer in a colour blocking outfit.

I know I’m trying to milk out my last few days of summer outfits before the hot chocolates and woolly socks arrive. What about you? Are you also holding onto the last straw hoping the summer days are not over yet?
