Don’t you just love the way winter feels? Yes, feels! What I mean by that is the feeling when you step outside and you’re hit by that fresh crispy cold air. Winter has that promising vibe of hot chocolates and ginger bread lattes, cosy jumpers, woolly socks, dark evenings, mulled wines, warm blankets and pajama days that we all adore!
For any fashionista, winter has also another meaning. It’s the time of the year we can swap summer dresses and straw hats for warm winter accessories such as hats, scarves and gloves. I come from the Czech Republic, a country where you get to experience incredibly warm summers nonetheless, seriously cold winters -20C. Hence we are used to dressing up (by that I mean layered up, layered up and layered up) until the point we resemble a very round snow man.Whoever said that diamonds are a girls best friend probably never experience cold winters.
Recently I got the chance to model winter accessories for Joe Browns, a quirky brand inspired by bold colours & bright patterns. Obviously I said yes to this incredible opportunity.
And what an experience that was. Apart from the fact that I modelled in the busy city centre of Leeds (my kind of “I don’t care” attitude came to good use here), I was meant to smile. A lot. Something quite challenging for me as I’m always oh-so-serious on pictures (have you noticed that as well?). Nevertheless I do enjoy a challenge so I gave it 110% and for the results, please see below.
Winter Outfit No. 1
Anyone can find their perfect winter accessories in cosy gloves, long wrap-around scarves and beanie hats with fluffy pom-poms.
There are so many hats out there, different colours, textures and styles. I’m not a beanie kinda girl but this beanie stole my heart. I adore its colour and it certainly was warm!
This has to be my favourite outfit, the colours work perfectly together, from the litte detail on the leather jacket, double sided gloves to the purple hue of the hat. When picking your winter accessories, it’s always helpful to pick pieces that reflect your style and work with your wardrobe.
Winter Outfit No. 2
This outfit is something different. I was like W.O.W. This faux fur hat won my heart and paired with this farm style blazer, it’s a real head turner. There is something about the British heritage incorporated into fashion, I just can’t get enough of!
Winter Outfit No. 3
I love how playful this outfit is. Joe Browns fashion should be all about being cheery and happy and I believe this outfit is all about feeling content. I can imagine walking in a park, the perfect winter outfit. I adored the delicate embroidery on this jacket, it just made it more girly. Also, the funky faux fur trimmed hood is going to be real saviour once the real winter hits.
Winter Outfit No. 4
Well, this outfit was definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. The unique Joe Browns style makes this coat stand out from the crowd. I was a bit wary but then I embraced it and combined with the fedora hat and brown leather boots, the final look was perfect. Particularly I loved the faux fur gloves as these would go with anything.
Winter and cold weather doesn’t have to kill your style, ladies. I say with the right winter accessories you can still be stylish while warm.
