Don’t you just love those early mornings you wake up full of energy and pluck up the courage to achieve whatever you set into your mind? Well this was me in the morning. Sometimes, all I need is a rainy morning as an excuse to stay home and have a bit of Me Time. Me Time to clean the house, to bake something luscious, read a good book or even do a bot of DIY.
For those of you who are not aware, I have a series on my blog called “Project Me Time” where I talk about the importance of finding time for yourselves so you can recharge. That’s why it’s so important for me to have a living space that rejuvenates me and inspires me. Inspires me to be better at my day to day job, to write a lovely post that you will all love to read, to be a good loving wife…and well, to be the person I want to be.
Well, back to my proactive morning. After I have multi tasked throughout the whole morning, it was time for me to relax. I opened my window to get a bit of fresh air…and took a deep breath…
…of fresh cold crispy air – you know the autumn kind, when you can actually smell the leaves in the air. The same air that inspired me to get up early and do it all. So I did and now, the same crispy autumn air tells me it’s time I snuggled up on a sofa, with a good read, either a blog I love, a book I’ve neglected for a long time or even a magazine I purchased (purely for the goodie it included, but I dare to say I’m not the only sinner here, am I!). And as I said, this crispy air navigated me to my sofa, where my blanket was kindly expecting me.
And I followed. Now I’m sat here, watching the rain drops dance on the window glass and it makes me think how happy am I at this moment.
I have a kind loving husband, and me on the sofa is a sign for him to leave me to my thoughts (and also go after his hobbies because he knows this is the moment where I’m not going to be a nagging wife).
But before he leaves me, I could hear the familiar noise of our coffee machine and soon enough, my nose was hit with a freshly brewed double shot espresso fragrance. Just the way I like it.
Ahhh, my afternoon perfection. What else do I need in my life?
Flowers. Flowers are a must for me.
“Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful. They are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul!”
I don’t remember who said this but it’s my favourite quote. That’s why I memorised it and that’s why my house always has one or two fresh flower bouquets.
They create such a perfect centrepiece in any room. Have you noticed that every time you walk into a room with flowers, your eyes rest on them? I believe there is a reason for that. They make any room brighter, happier and I’m sure it’s embedded in us, to gravitate towards living things.
Perhaps that is why my Instagram account is always filled with fresh flowers and green plants…every week.
My place is full of greenery. There are plants wherever you look and my colleagues at work laugh at me every time I return from my lunch break with a new bunch of flowers or a new plant. Green green green living plants make me ecstatic about live and fill my living space with a constant vibe.
Normally I go for a flower bouquet from the Leeds Market but this gorgeous “Christmas themed flower bouquet” is from Prestige Flowers and I was so happy to receive them. They lasted about 3 weeks and for the first week I had them, they filled my space with a fresh smell of cinnamon. Perfect present if you’re thinking of rewarding someone you love with fresh bunch of flowers, and they do flower delivery. And as I always say, you won’t be rewarding them with just flowers but you will also make them happier…I solemnly swear.
By the way, anyone else is excited about Christmas already? I’ve started my Christmas shopping, majority of it was spent in The Body Shop, when I attended the Frosted Plum Christmas 2015 Collection release. I couldn’t help myself.
