Outfit Post: Lost in Art

Outfit Post: Flared Jeans Fashion

What’s a girl to do when a weekend arrives and she has no plans at all? Improvise! Days off are not all about shopping or having pajama days. For days when I want to get lost in my mind, I tend to visit The Yorkshire Sculpture park, if not, read about my visit here and here! I wanted to do something different, to educate myself, or my mind if you
may. I didn’t want to venture too far away so we decided on Hepworth
gallery in Wakefield.

I adore museums and galleries. Perhaps because I’m fascinated with all those intelligent and thoughtful conversions that people tend to have. Perhaps it’s the way they quietly study the art – their deep and meaningful looks – getting a bit closer admiring the artists brush strokes or retrieving backwards to take in the whole piece. To me, art represents a real sense of freedom. It’s a mirror into not only artist’s souls but ours as well. I like to get lost in art – it’s my favorite kind of lost.

The sun was shining which was lovely, although felt a bit weird. It’s been rainign for so long I’d forgotten what it was like, to feel sunshine on my skin. With my weekend outfit I went for a bit of understated grown up elegance. Without even realising it, both blouse and jeans are from H&M and if I can say so myself, perfectly compliments each other. The whole outfit is the perfect balance between modern laid back style and classic elegance.

The look effortlessly combines dark denim details and textures with
refreshing white hues of the silk blouse. Jing and jang, the never dissapointing combo. It’s is so versatile it could be worn to an office as well – dress down Friday, anyone? A simple button-down is always a great match for flares – tucked in, front tucked or just half tucked.

Flared jeans are just about the most exciting thing to happen to denim since…well, skinny jeans. This 70’s style made its come back yet again and we, fashionistas, are loving it. Nothing says casual-chic like a pair of flared jeans!

I’m not the tallest person on the planet so I paired mine with a pair of wedged heels. A little tip from me, wearing flares with heels will make your legs look a mile long (and also body less round). To add a pop of color I finished the look with my Dune tote bag. To re-create a tad smarter look – I went to an art gallery afterall – I matched the whole look with my glasses (a bit pretensios? Perhaps). I do wonder what the employees of the Hepworth gallery thought of me posing among the art.

Looking back at my latest outfit posts, I noticed I tend to go for a bit more classic look recently. Could be the influence of cold weather or me growing up? Well, this post seems to be no different, perhaps you will have more luck next time…or spring…that’s more playful time, isn’t it.

Where do you like to venture when you have a bit of spare time on your hands?

Yep…Dei is so right, you look stunning. The blouse is just gorgeous, this look really suits you. Love the post too, it made me smile. I haven't been to the Hepworth yetbto have any intelligent conversations… I do love Yorkshire Sculpture Park though. Maybe we should organise a little trip out? xx

The outfit looks fab, understated chic. I couldn't agree more with you when it comes to days off – better to do something educational with them than hangaround at home in PJs eating ice cream from a tub while watching hours of TV! Tx

Don't take me wrong, I love my pyjama days but sometimes I want to do more with my life, haha Xx

What a gorgeous outfit, I love dark denim and white together. Like you say, the perfect combination! I totally love going out and visiting places when i have days off. When I am super busy all the time, I think that I crave a day sat in bed doing nothing, but when it actually comes down to it, I am get a bit noted doing that after a few hours and I am itching to get out and do something!
    Happy New Year's Eve!
