Beauty Review: Spa Of The World – The Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil

Beauty Review: Spa Of The World - The Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil

I promised myself to look after my skin and health more in 2016 and as a result I’ve been browsing reviews and talking to beauticians of all sorts. The one thing that kept popping up was “Oils”. Right at the beginning of 2015 I actually had my bottle of Espa Regenerating Face Treatment Oil but that’s long gone and I’ve never replaced it.

I do also try to relax more and I have also released a new season on my blog called “Project ME TIME” where I talk about the importance of looking after ourselves because if you do, your body and skin will reward you.

This year The Body Shop launched a new beauty Spa Of The World line, bringing a range of divine smelling, skin smoothing products out of the spa straight into our homes. A girls dream. I have always been a huge fan of the Body Shop products, mainly due to the quality but also due to their “no testing on animals” policy.

I have purchased 4 products from this oh-so-amazing line and I’ll be posting my reviews of every one of each in the next following weeks: Spa of the World™ Egyptian Milk & Honey Bath (read my review here), Spa of the World™ The Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil, Spa of the World™ Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay & Spa of the World™ Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay.

So what did I think of The Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil?

Texture & Colour:

Monoï is a sacred blend of coconut oil and fragrant tiare flowers used by the women of the Pacific Islands for over 2,000 years, as said by The Body Shop. It can be used for your body as well as hair. I have not used it for my hair, I have plenty of other products for them so I’m saving this radiance oil for my face and neckline only.

To my surprise the oil feels light and absorbs into the skin fairly quickly without leaving any oily or sticky residue.

Application:

You actually don’t need to use a lot. Just a few drops will do. My skin soaked it up better than I do cocktails on a Saturday night out with a difference of leaving my skin refreshed and hydrated. Result!
There is plenty of arguments on the internet whether using oils will make your skin oily BUT good oils WILL NOT MAKE YOUR SKIN OILY. I use mine after I cleanse my face, twice a day – in the morning and in the evening, following by my regular moisturiser.

Price:

160 ml bottle costs £16. Not bad at all considering all the goodness it delivers.

Conclusion:

Why should we use facial oils? By using oils we protect our skin from harsh environment, helping to focus on repair – it’s all about being proactive, rather than reactive!

I absolutely adore The Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil. My skin feels smooth, healthier and perhaps even more radiant – even though it’s still early days, I’ve been using it for the last two weeks only.

What about you lovelies, what radiance oils have you been using, what are the must buy and not to buy according to you?

That is such a wonderful advice Amy. I do it the other way round, first oil and then moisturiser but I'll try your way to see if that makes any difference Xx
