I adore vintage fashion. There is just something special about vintage finds, don’t you think? To me, every vintage piece is a treasure that I carefully pick for its uniqueness, quality and fine looks. By wearing a vintage clothing, you become “one of a kind”, just like the piece itself. To me, vintage garments have history & character, afterall, they have already lived life.
Vintage doesn’t mean old, it’s an expression for “pre-loved”!
Another great thing about vintage finds is, that you’ll hardly find someone else rocking to the same room wearing exactly the same. I have a colleague and we both own the same white summer jacket. She’s my lunch buddy and imagine how silly we look walking across the town to get our lunch wearing the same jacket. It’s priceless!
I purchased this M&S coat from a charity shop for an incredible jaw-dropping price of £3.50 and waited for about 3 years for this style to come back into fashion. It was one of those finds when you know you have to have it no matter what and I knew this classy style will made its way back to us.
Classics never go out of style.
Vintage pieces very often compliment the current fashion trends.
When I was styling my outfit post, I decided to pair the old with the new. I’m wearing my favourite faux leather Zara skirt and this very cute beige H&M knitwear. You can also see me rocking this A-shaped Zara skirt in another outfit post of mine, where I’m welcoming earthy tones and matching three different shades of brown hues together.
Be above trends!
As you can see, I don’t always wear new clothing in my fashion outfit posts, I’m more of a “show-new-ideas” kind of a girl and try to mix it up. I don’t believe you need to shop till you drop for a new piece of clothing every time. Instead, try to combine different pieces of your wardrobe. You’ll see the possibilities are endless and you can end up with a new style every time you let your imagination run wild!
I wear this M&S coat with a great love and respect. I always imagine who was the person wearing it before, what was her story. I feel wrapped in a history. A history of one coat, one woman and her story. Vintage fashion is a world where everything old becomes new again. A breath of fresh air!
As far as trends go, be sure to mix it up. Don’t be scared to mix god
old vintage pieces with the latest fashion trends. You never know what a
gem of outfit you just might end up with!
I’ve recently attented M&S Vintage fashion show, and I was copletely smitten by all the unique and stylish pieces. If I could, I would purchase at least half of the catwalk, I swear! The experience not only makes me want to visit every possible charity or vintage shop but it also inspired me to be more thoughtful of what I buy and tought me how improtant it is to have your own style and stick to it.
What about you my trendy lovelies, what are your opinions on wearing good old vintage clothing?
