I love to travel no matter how far or for how long. The excitement of going straight towards an adventure leaves me feeling like a little girl, whose parents promised her a visit to a Zoo. Anytime we can, me and my husband venture out, leaving the civilization behind and let ourselves surround by nature.
These moments are the ones I cherish the most. Simply because I love to reconnect with nature and leave my erratic thoughts behind. Only then, I feel at peace.
Don’t take me wrong, I also adore towns and cities and if we ever do a city break then the rule is the more historical place the better. It’s the quiet promise of discovering secrets of historical towns and old cities that lure me every time.
I just can’t explain that feeling when I enter an old place, I can almost feel the ancient air flowing past me, I feel like I can actually touch the atmosphere and let it surround me. Yes, I’m one of those people that reads every sign, visits every museum and you’ll always find me first on the top of the castle’s towers as soon as they open.
I’ve recently attended a blogger pre-Christmas dinner with Jet 2 in Leeds and it evoked all kind of feelings. The last two years have been a real struggle to venture out, we’ve bought our first home and ever since most of our free time (and hard earned monies) goes either towards DIYing, restoring or decorating it.
The dinner happened to be at Tetley’s brewery, my favourite place for all kinds of beers and I can also confirm, food was ah-mazing! All in all, it was great to catch up with all my favourite bloggers and share our travel stories and plans. Jet 2 ladies prepared a game for us too and it was at that point I regretted not paying enough attention during geography as there was a prize to be won….and yes, you guessed it right, I did not win.
I do get to travel a lot though. I was born and raised in the ever so amazing and ever so green country of The Czech Republic. So as it happens I go to visit my family a lot and whenever we can we do try to join our visits with exploring historic castles or towns. We also don’t miss an opportunity to go hiking, which I love. Czech mountains are surrounded by thick forest filled with animals and you are free to roam wherever you like. Hiking and biking trails are found more or less everywhere, and there are ponds and lakes to swim in and to fish from at nearly every town.
I read somewhere that The Czech Republic is the only country with the most density of castles and chateaux and as such, it comes to no surprise I’m influenced by the culture. Hence I was so blown away by the décor at the Jet2 dinner. It reminded me of those weekends away when my family and I would travel around and explored new towns and castles. I love my memories and I’ll cherish them for the rest of my life.
I wish I can travel a bit more next year, discover UK cities, towns and nature parks but also travel abroad to explore different cultures.

When I travel I want the sights, sounds and the atmosphere to seep in without any preconceptions. I do love to plan so I know where to go and what are the best places to visit but I also like to get carried away by the atmosphere. These are the best moments to discover those secret hidden corners only locals know about.
As you can see the Jet 2 Christmas dinner brought all kinds of emotions out of me. Oh how I love to reminiscence on my past ventures and day dream where to go next, what kind of historic or exotic places to visit.
