It’s cold evening, I’m cosying in bed, wrapped in my duvet and blankets, sipping on Jasmine green tea and nibbling on grapes. My favourite weekend combination. It’s getting dark and the sky is still wild after it just finished raining. This is the moment I feel at peace, watching rain drops on the window lazily flow down.
Beauty is in everything around you, all you have to do is to open your eyes.
It’s becoming colder and colder outside, the true promise winter is on its way. I find myself the longer I spend outside, my nose turns red and my cheeks blush. It’s the time of the year we all wrap up in huge scarves and warm coats and spend more and more of our time sipping on hot chocolates complimented by a cheeky whipped cream and perhaps even marshmallows. Coffee places are bursting with people drinking their pumpkin spiced lattes and even secretly ordering ginger bread men to send their sugar levels through the roof. Well, I know certainly do.
This morning we ventured out, to the city wilderness as we wanted to exploit sales and prepare for Christmas. We didn’t manage to get all we wanted and soon enough we both got very tired of the busy high street.
For this shopping occasion in town, I opted for my new jacket to keep me wrapped and warm. At first, I was just a little intimidated by the style. Whilst now, I can’t think of a jacket I like to style and go out in more. It’s become my go to jacket when it’s cold enough you can see your own breath. You can also spot my latest winter addition, white jumper, that I’m sporting in my Cosy winter outfit post. In all honesty, I haven’t paired the jacket with anything else just yet!
The outfit that I am wearing in the pictures, is a typical way that I’d style my outfits on weekends. The dark denim and pale grey colour palette gives a nod to the season turning cold at this time of year. Such a simple outfit, that would easily melt into the background if it wasn’t for the complex sleeve detailing that brings the look into winter season and right on trend.
After stressful morning, I decided to spend the rest of my afternoon in bed, relaxing with a good book. I’ve been reading a lot of inspirational stories and business related books. It has taken me years to really become productive and I still want to build my career around the things that I love. But there is so much I want to achieve and not everything is closely related. So I’m looking for guidance. I’m slowly learning that I’m not perfect and I don’t always have to be on the top of everything. I’ve written about my journey in my ‘How to fulfill my dreams‘ post so if you want to know what helped me, have a read.
But most of all, be more aware of yourself, take a note of your desires and needs, take a step back and listen to your body. Every single one of us have something to fulfil, something that completes us.
If you have a vision, breathe a life into it, grab your fate by the hand and be the one who takes the first step. It’s not an easy job but once you try it, I promise you will not want to leave the ride. It’s exhilarating, exhausting, there will be ups and downs, but it will be worth it in the end. You can do it and I believe in you!
I will wholeheartedly keep my fingers crossed for you.
So have a very lovely day and try to look for beauty in ordinary things. I’m sure you will see how it is sometimes easier than it might seem.
